Black Bean Burger

Black Bean Burger

This recipe is like a business book -- a one-sentence summary can tell you nearly everything you need to know. Are you ready for it? Here's how to make a black bean burger. Pan-fry our black bean tofu and put it on bread.

I realize that sounds a bit plain. And while we think it would actually be delicious, I'm here to tell you how we amped up ours, and how you might, too. But we encourage you to make this burger your own.

Ingredients

  • Midnight Moonrise Black Bean Tofu
  • Greens of some kind (spring mix, baby kale, etc.)
  • Egg (omit for vegan)
  • Bun or bread (we used rye toast)

Instructions

(1) Pan fry things

  • Heat a pan. Add oil. You can then add our tofu block whole, or cut it so that it is in two (or more) rectangular patties. Cook until crisp on one side, about 5-6 minutes, then use a sharp-edged spatula to get under and flip. Cook the other side for 5-6 minutes. Remove from pan.
  • Fry up a few eggs, as you like.

(2) Assemble burgers

  • Wash greens, and prepare any other toppings you like -- tomato, avocado, etc.
  • Toast the toast and put it all together!
